Melanie Scott, LMFT

“Owning our story and loving ourselves through the process is the bravest thing that we will ever do."

- Brene Brown

Melanie is a licensed marriage and family therapist trained in helping individuals, couples, adolescents, and families who are wanting to improve their relationships with others and themselves. Melanie's style is calm, compassionate, curious, and non-judgmental. She makes sure her clients feel comfortable and heard in the therapy room, while also gently directing them towards change. Melanie understands that her clients are often just stuck in a cycle or pattern which is negatively impacting their life, but they don't know how to change it. She helps them break free and create new patterns that empower them to live the life they want. Some of the challenges her clients face include trauma, anxiety, life transitions, medical diagnoses, relationship problems, depression, and betrayal. Melanie collaborates with her clients throughout the therapy process, guiding them as they work towards achieving their goals towards a healthier and more fulfilled life.

Melanie graduated with her undergraduate degree in Family and Human Development from Arizona State University, where she also received her master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. She is trained in attachment theory, trauma, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), emotionally focused therapy techniques, cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, solution focused therapy, and mindfulness practices.
